ABOUT US
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Meade
Co-Founders Charlie Miller and Jeremy Hubball have been friends since high school. Sharing our commitment to education, a concern for the plight of children, and a history of community service, we founded The Children’s Initiative (“TCI”) in 2005 as an international social service project to improve the health and education of children in resource-starved communities. TCI focuses on select villages in Southeast Asia, Africa and Central America where our efforts can have the greatest impact.
The Children’s Initiative is incorporated as a not-for-profit entity with 501(c)3 status.
By combining our complementary talents for business, teaching, and philanthropy, along with our fascination with diverse cultures, we have successfully maximized results by matching our resources with the very best local human capital. Our mission is to serve as the catalyst and funding source to establish sustainable programs that enable impoverished children to reach their potential and lead healthy, productive lives.
We are currently focused on helping children in Yen Tien and Catdang Village in northern Vietnam, in Mekelle, Ethiopia, and El Rosario and surrounding villages in Honduras. We partner with dedicated people who have demonstrated commitment, integrity, and success in addressing the needs of children.

Here in the United States, TCI relies on volunteers, while in Vietnam, Ethiopia and Honduras, we collaborate with capable and dedicated professionals who are in a position to make things happen. In addition, we have assembled a strong Board of Directors (WHO WE ARE) that brings a variety of talents, perspectives and capabilities to the mission.
